Day on Jekyll island

Hey guys off to spend the day on Jekyll. Mom has been here a few times but there are a few new things to see.
Dad and I did talk a early walk on the beach and found a few sea shells. Out first stop was to the beach where they filmed the movie Glory.
Here is the board walk they had to build to get the crew and cameras to the film site.

Next stop off to the Millionaire Village
Maybe no crabs or gators but found a few other friends.

I of course wanted to go on the trolley ride

Mom took a lot of pictures of the nice homes. Here is just a few.

Here is a red bug - this is how they got around
Look here this is the phone used in first transcontinental phone call they beginning of AT&T

Check out this picture and see what you can find

He was there all day
Next door was the sea turtle center

This poor guy was hit by a car and can not use his back flippers.
Next we went to the marina for lunch.

This guy may know where the crabs are

We went to two more historical sites
This is the first house on the island and of course a cemetery

I always like a nice breeze while on a ride

Yeah Beach time!!

I meet a friend when I first got there

Found a jelly fish
And a sand dollar

Looking for crabs. Not find them but for some reason I'm fascinated with seaweed

1st day

I had a great night sleep and was up earlier to take a walk on the beach We saw a dolphin close to the shore.

Here is a walkway to the beach

-

Our hotel has a firepit right outside of our room, even though it is not nice as our at home.

We started our journey for the day crossing over the Lanier Bridge

Then we went to a old rice plantation, it has a great walkway to play with Live Oak trees. Take a look

Look at Dad next to one

My parents went to a place called Mudcats Charlie's all I got was crackers
They sure are a lot of gnats here.

Next we headed down to St Simons and the town of Fredercia This is the place were my mom told me the little people lived. Still haven't seen any crabs or gators. The squirrels look different here though.

Here is Dad and I going down the Wesley Memorial Walk

This is old Christ Church

Here I am a Fredercia. They have oranges trees do you see one.?

Here is a close up for you

This is at the entrance to the fort

Mom usually has a hard time to get me to pose, she was lucky here. This is my nervous yawn. I had just been running and stepped in a hole.

It was a long day I didn't stay awake on the ride back to Jekyll

See you all tomorrow
